The minute the weather gets above 65 degrees it’s officially dress, skirt, or in this case romper season, so say hello to my pale legs. Most likely, I’m probably blinding people with my pasty legs, but don’t worry because whenever the sun is out and I have some down time, I’ve been working on my pre summer glow by sitting in Central Park. Although, by the looks of these photos, back-up reinforcement like some sort of self tanner might be needed.
Anyway, in today’s style post, I busted out my new romper from Cotton On. I don’t believe there is a Cotton On in the city, so I purchased this number one weekend when I was back home in Connecticut. In an effort, to add more color, different prints, and styles into my wardrobe, I was drawn to this bright yellow color. I have nothing like this in my closet, plus the whole neon color trend is huge this summer. I also like how it has a little black triangle pattern throughout the romper to break up the bold color. Plus, the ruffle detail on neckline is a nice added touch.
Most of the time, when it comes to dresses or rompers, I always size up for one reason, length. I find that when shopping at stores like Cotton On, Forever 21, or TJ Maxx, a lot of their clothing items are so short! And in order to make my clothing items appropriate for inside and outside the office, I want to make sure the length is appropriate. But since I size up, sometimes it can be a little big or baggy so in this case I added my favorite silver belt from Target to give the romper more shape. See how I also style this belt, in my previous post here: https://livforstyle.net/back-with-flare/
Since the neckline is deep, I added a statement, layered silver necklace from Forever 21 for some extra edge.
Now, that I finally got a much needed pedicure I can bust out the sandals, but sadly these photos were taken when my feet were not in sandal condition so I’m still wearing my basic black heeled booties from Forever 21.
I can’t express how excited I am to finally be wearing more dresses, skirts, and rompers. It’s about time! Let me know in the comments below how you are getting your wardrobe spring/summer ready!
