Four more classes left, one philosophy paper to write, and a psychology test to take and then it’s finally time to hop on a train to New York City, again.  Remember when I mentioned LivForStyle was heading on some crazy adventures?  Well in today’s post I will be talking about one of those events. Catch me at College Fashion Week this Saturday, October 1st from 6-9 p.m. at Venue 404 in New York City.  Are you interested in attending?  Keep reading for more information on an event, you won’t want to miss.          It’s crazy to think that this is my last year as a college student, so obviously when I was invited to College Fashion Week, I was like HECK YES!  What’s better than going to a fashion show with fellow style obsessed collegiattes?  Thanks to Her Campus Media, my dreams are coming true and I can’t wait to be part of Her Campus’s fifth annual College Fashion Week.          For all those who are not familiar with College Fashion Week, it is a show celebrating fashionistas in a fun and empowering way.  This year, the show features up and coming designers, including My Social Canvas, Foray, Ali…

My 45-minute train ride to and from Grand Central Station consists of napping, thinking, and writing blog posts all while listening to music. I get through the not so fun commute with a little help from Spotify music. Just like not having one style of fashion I enjoy wearing, I don’t have one style of music I enjoy listening to. I listen to all sorts of genres of music, like rap, pop, alternative, and techno. However, the music I tend to listen to on the train are songs that will pump me up in the morning for the new day ahead of me and help me unwind on my way back home after a long day. Beautiful Day– U2 This is a great morning song. When all I want to do is head home and get right into my bed I know that each day is a gift and I am so lucky that every day I get the chance to be in the city I love. The lyrics, “it’s a beautiful day don’t let it get away,” inspire me to look at all the positives throughout my day. The Anthem– Good Charlotte A great pump up song. This song…

It’s not hard to tell from my three back-to-back denim related posts, that lately I’m obsessing over all things denim. Sarcasm aside denim is a major staple in any wardrobe. Today I’m not focusing on jeans or a denim dress but an oversized vintage denim jacket to which I added my own personal style. Overall, this outfit just makes me feel cool. I’m convinced it is the jean jacket because it is not an ordinary denim jacket but a denim jacket with a variety of patches. I discovered that iron on patches were a huge trend in the 80s. Pretty much anywhere there was space on your favorite shirt, jacket, or jeans, you could put a patch on it. The 80s must have been a fun decade but I hardly remember it (haha just kidding, 90s baby right here). Fashion is all about bringing past trends back so I proudly wear my patched up denim jacket.          My denim jacket is from Brag Vintage, a UK based vintage clothing store selling the highest quality vintage and retro women and men’s clothing and accessories. They are constantly updating their collection, so every week you can find a new and unique treasure waiting…

Shop Now: Summer Must Haves Summer might not officially start for another month, but the heat has got us excited about all the upcoming adventures and holiday getaways.  The traveling, the beach, the parties, makes summer arguably everyone’s favorite season, and we love all the lightweight clothing that come with it.  Although all the accessories of winter and spring might be fun to pile on, let’s face it: as Travel Republic iterates, we long for the days that we can leave the layers behind. We all have our own summer essentials and favorites, but we’re curious as to what the experts are recommending.  The editors of Lyst have compiled several useful collections to inspire our summer wardrobe, with one suggesting that you “embrace the freedom of endless summer days and nights and go for sexy Off-The-Shoulder tops, Baywatch style swimsuits and micro mini shorts,” from brands such as Nasty Gal, TopShop, Free People and more. No matter which brands you shop for, just be sure that you have the following items to survive the season. A cotton jumpsuit Some women seem to be under the impression that you need to have legs for days to pull off a one-piece like…

Hello again.  So sorry for my absence on my blog.  For all of those who don’t know I decided to go blonde and I was to busy testing out the theory if blondes do have more fun.  Just kidding (well half kidding).  I did dye my hair blonde but I have been super busy with school work. Being a second semester junior is not easy.  But now I have more time for my blog and fun things, so I will get back to you on the theory if blondes do have more fun. I am so excited to show you another one of my favorite outfits, as well as debut my new blonde doo.  Now that the weather is changing, I am even more inspired to experiment with new clothing and trends, and of course go shopping. Today’s look is an outfit I would wear to class or wear for a night out. I love putting together outfits that can be worn in different scenarios.  I love the subtle pops of color in my outfit. After all, that is what the spring season is all about; driving or walking about and seeing random pops of colorful flowers blooming.             I…
