Endless Summer

(Sigh) Why can’t summer last forever? It seems like the season takes forever to get here, and when it does finally arrive, it leaves in a blink of an eye. I know the official end to summer isn’t until the end of September but I realized the days are getting shorter and the kiddies are back in school (same with me) but I can’t complain because I had one of the best summers ever. Some of the highlights of my summer include interning with a great fashion company, learning tons about the fashion industry, having more time to blog, and… View Post

Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology

One of the many things on my summer bucket list was to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to see their exciting fashion exhibit, Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology. Luckily, a few weeks ago I had the chance to explore the exhibit and the entire museum. I was blown away by how extensive the exhibit was. The exhibit includes over 170 ensembles, showing that fashion is more than just dressing but truly an art form. Each piece showcased in the exhibit highlighted the connection between technology and fashion. I enjoyed how the exhibit was divided… View Post

Goodbye 2015

Dear 2015, Thanks for an amazing year. A year filled with ups and downs. A year filled with successes and fails. A year filled with challenges. But most importantly a year filled with lessons. I am very hopeful for 2016, but before I enter into the new year, I want to reflect on 2015 and what I learned. 1. Be present I have always heard to live in the moment, to stop and look, and take time to reflect. However, it was not until this autumn, I knew the real meaning of those phrases. The long walks to class have… View Post

Holiday Party Survival Guide

The holiday season is in full swing. Christmas music is blasting wherever you go. Stores are packed with holiday shoppers. Homes are decorated with Christmas lights and grocery stores are sampling their favorite holiday treats. The holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year, but it can also be quite stressful. What to wear? What to give? What to serve? You’re not alone because all these questions run through my mind this time of year. Even though, I can’t go shopping with you personally, help you decorate, or help you entertain, I can provide a few tips for… View Post

On Repeat

Nothing is better than escaping college life by getting in the car, going off campus, and doing some shopping, even if it is by yourself. A few days ago I found out that retail therapy does exist. I was feeling a little down, and decided to pick myself up with something I love to do and that something is shopping. I was pretty bummed that nobody was around to go on a shopping trip with me, but what I found is that a little me time is just what I needed to overcome my blues. On another note, it has… View Post

Autumn Days Are Here Again

From bright green leaves to rich red leaves, from hot, humid days to crisp, chilly afternoons, from lightweight dresses to chunky sweaters, from strappy sandals to knee high boots… autumn days are here again. Hands down, autumn is my favorite season. I love the changing leaves, the cool air, the pumpkin spice lattes, and of course the fall fashion.  One thing that I don’t love about the month of October, the heart of the fall season, is midterms, which is why I have been so absent from my site.  Once October hits, I spend the majority of my days and… View Post

Welcome to Townhouse 71

Block seven, house number one. This is where me and my three best friends will spend our junior year of college. These past few weeks have been filled with laughter, music blasting, some schoolwork being done, and of course decorating. Since this was my third year moving onto campus, I was more excited than nervous. Every year it becomes easier and easier and I owe it all to Bed Bath& Beyond. Thanks to Bed Bath & Beyond’s college checklist college shopping was stress free and more fun this year. The checklist had all the essentials from Twin XL sheets, stylish… View Post

I Love My Boyfriend (Jeans)

Who needs a boyfriend when you have a pair of fabulous jeans? Sadly, there’s no man in my life; however, I am in a committed relationship with my new boyfriend jeans from Madewell. It wasn’t until recently, I jumped on the boyfriend jeans bandwagon. It seems like the skinny jean trend has died out. Now all the buzz is about slouchy, shapeless jeans. Every time I try on a pair of boyfriend jeans, I feel stupid and out of place; however that changed when I took a risk and bought a pair of boyfriend jeans. It has taken some time… View Post

Back 2 School

Who knew that three words could cause so much anxiety…back to school. Although summer has not officially ended on the calendar, my summer ended when I walked into my first class. From elementary school to middle school to high school and now college, I always experience back to school jitters, especially the night before classes start. College is a different experience because I find you don’t need many school supplies. In elementary school you needed markers, crayons, glue sticks, and much more. In high school you needed a binder and notebook for every subject. Luckily, I only take five classes… View Post
