It’s crazy to think that we are already 19 days into the New Year.  Anyway, I was so overwhelmed by the positive feedback I received from my Fashion Trends That Need To Go In 2017 post (if you haven’t read it yet, click here).  After reading all your interesting comments, I decided to write a similar post, this time reflecting on the outrageous beauty trends in 2016 that I hope won’t roll over into 2017.  I know 2016 is now in the past and we should be moving forward, but I can’t help to point out the beauty trends in 2016 that in my opinion were far from glamorous.  Keep on reading for the beauty trends that need to go in 2017. 100 layers challenge          Please tell me you have seen the 100 layers challenge videos on YouTube.  You know, the videos where someone proceeds to layer on absurd amounts of makeup on their face, eyes, lips, and nails.  If you have no idea what I am talking about check out Jenna Marbles 100 layers challenge video.  After watching her apply layers of false eyelashes, tanner, nail polish, foundation, lip color, and hair spray you will be left shocked.…

The post holiday depression has officially set in.  Walking through Bryant Park in NYC each day, I see what use to be the holiday shopping village now vacant.  I watch stores take down their holiday window decorations, but I refuse to put away my glitz and glam from the holiday season.  Keep on reading to see how to incorporate sparkle in your everyday look even when the holidays are over. My favorite way to keep the glam in the dreary winter months is to add sparkle in subtle ways, which is why I love my plaid button up with the pops of gold sparkle from GlitterBuzzStyle Boutique.  The sparkle on the pocket and the back turns this shirt from ordinary to extraordinary.  Check out http://www.glitterbuzzstyleboutique.com for more fashionable finds. Since I mentioned how cold the winter can get I just layered a thin white sweater from Old Navy under my blouse.  I always look for ways to add more warmth to any of my outfits because I am miserable when I’m cold. As for jeans I’m wearing my new super flared jeans from Madewell.  This is not just your typical skinny jean, but the flared detail totally steps up your…

Happy New Year! Here’s to an amazing 2017.  But before I can cheer the new year and start discovering new and popular fashion trends for 2017, I think it’s a good idea to take some time to reflect on the trends, that in my opinion, need to vanish in the new year.  We all have different opinions and some of the trends that I mention you might totally love, but that’s the fun of fashion, everyone has their different styles.  You won’t catch me wearing any of the styles mentioned below or if I have, they will no longer be taking up anymore space in my closet.  Keep on reading to find out which trends that were oh so popular in 2016, I hope will vanish in 2017. Emoji Don’t get me wrong, I love my cartoon patches on my denim jacket or sneakers, but I really only like the generic symbols like a heart, peace sign, and so on.  What I am talking about is the emoji on your phone like the dancing girl, the devilish twins, the sassy lady, the laughing face, and more.  The emojis you use when texting your best friend or when you are lost…

It’s the final stretch!  Two final papers handed in and just three final exams to take and my first semester of senior year is OVER!  What the heck?  Where did time go?  It feels like yesterday I was the timid freshman on campus and now I am a big shot senior.  Putting all that aside, I decided to put down my philosophy notes for a bit and write a new post for you all.          So for today’s post I am switching things up a little bit and first going to talk about my infamous Charming Charlie Good Vibes necklace that has made many appearances on my blog.  In fact, this is one of my favorite necklaces so I had to dedicate the title of this blog post to the influential message behind the necklace.  The saying “Good Vibes” has been my motto for this past week, especially when I have been bombarded with exams and assignments, but it also has become my motto throughout this semester and continuing onto the next.  I am a big believer that your attitude determines your experiences, so I am making sure I spread those good vibes throughout my last year of college to…
