Nothing is better than escaping college life by getting in the car, going off campus, and doing some shopping, even if it is by yourself. A few days ago I found out that retail therapy does exist. I was feeling a little down, and decided to pick myself up with something I love to do and that something is shopping. I was pretty bummed that nobody was around to go on a shopping trip with me, but what I found is that a little me time is just what I needed to overcome my blues.
On another note, it has been such a warm fall in New England. I am so scared that by pointing this out, I’ll jinx the weather and tomorrow there will be a snow storm. But, I am enjoying this “Indian Summer” because I get to wear a typical fall outfit, jeans, sweater, and boots without shivering. Like I always say fall fashion is the best fashion.
Today’s outfit features two new pieces from my latest shopping trip. I like to call the “sweater” I am wearing, a scarf with sleeves. Just imagine your favorite scarf with sleeves draped over your body. I found this unique piece at Apricot Lane. I love the deep emerald and burgundy colors, as well as the fringe detailing at the bottom. To let the shawl be the focal point, a white t-shirt or long-sleeve shirt is all you need to wear underneath.
A spontaneous trip to Old Navy left me with a shopping bag full of new items which included two vests (I feature one here) and a pair of jeans. Their Rockstar High Rise Skinny Jeans have become my favorite jean because of their comfortable fit. I also love the distressed detail because who doesn’t love holes in their jeans?
To bring out more of the rich shades of fall, I am wearing my purple amethyst gem stone necklace from H&M. My philosophy is the more color the better.
For shoes, last year’s Burlington Coat Factory studded booties have been my go-to. They are falling apart, but I refuse to retire these shoes. I am in dire need of a new pair of booties. Any suggestions?
That’s it for today’s post. Like the title above says, my jeans and shawl have been on repeat. Whether worn together or with different pieces from my wardrobe, they certainly have made a statement this fall. Share with me in the comments below your fall outfit that has been on repeat?

Cute look! Love the colors of the kimono. I also love shopping by myself. I used to hate it but at some point that changed and now I look forward to having that “me” time. 🙂
