Not Getting Over, My Over-The-Knee Boots

It took me until this winter to test out the over-the-knee, thigh-high boots trend. I’ve been so hesitant to embrace in this look, because one, I didn’t think these boots would look good on me and two, I didn’t think I would get a ton of use out of them.

Jury is still out for reason one, although I do feel like these boots make my legs look longer, but to my surprise I’ve been wearing them a lot, especially when wearing a dress for a night out on the town. I just feel like they add a fancy and even sexy element to any outfit. Plus, since they are so high I can get away without wearing tights, which is always a bonus, because you don’t have to worry about snagging your tights on anything and everything, or is that just me?

Here, I’m just wearing my over-the-knee boots with a dress from, you guessed it, Zara. I love the drop waist and ruffle details of this dress and it’s always nice to wear another pattern other than animal print, even if it’s just a basic floral print. But, I should give this floral print more credit because it features a unique, darker floral print, giving off some major winter vibes.

See how a somewhat simple dress can take on a new role with some thigh-high boots. These black suede boots are by the brand Unisa and were purchased at, you guessed it again, DSW. Only thing about these boots is that you need to pull them up every once and a while, which brings me back to my Catholic school days when I had to wear knee high socks with my uniform.

Since the dress does have a low neckline, I took advantage of it by wearing my silver layered necklace with a cool face pendant from H&M and then finished off the look with some geometric earrings also from H&M.

I’ve been swapping out different dresses with these boots, which basically has been my going out wardrobe, whether it’s hitting my favorite cocktail bars or going out to dinner. I might need to invest in another pair. It’s funny how a few months ago I would have never thought to add a pair of boots like this to my wardrobe and now I’m obsessed.

Let me know in the comments below if you have an item that you were hesitant to buy and after a few wears you were so happy you did.  Talk to you all soon!

I think you look great in them, especially with that dress. I bought Otk boots three years and own 3 pair. I really only wear them on the coldest of days. I feel uncomfortable wearing them because no one in my neck of the woods wears them. I was hoping the discomfort would go away, but so far it hasn’t. I get a lot of looks when I wear mine, but they go up a lot higher than yours, maybe that’s why.
