It’s been a hot minute since I wrote a blog post. I guess you can call me an “occasional blogger.” One who wishes she was like all the motivated and consistent bloggers she follows on Instagram but instead works a full time job and then after spends her little bit of free time going to the gym, going out with friends, or just unplugging from the social media world.
When the weekends do come and I have a spare minute, I haven’t made the effort to take photos, especially since now it’s freezing outside or sit at my favorite coffee shop with my laptop to work on my blog. Slowly, but surely I’m trying to get motivated again and head to my favorite Starbucks on the corner to sit and work. After all, I still love having my blog as an outlet, a place to stay connected with fashion, writing, and people like me.
Although, I might not be the best blogger, I still celebrate those small victories, like answering one email after a long day at work or sitting with my journal and pen on the subway during my morning commute or even just taking a simple mirror picture of my outfit to show to my followers, which brings me to this post.
Time is limited. I spend all day at my “9-5 job” working on huge productions for upcoming shoots, but when it comes to my blog, I don’t have time to hire a fancy photographer, scout out locations, carry around my expensive DSLR camera. So, an iPhone quick mirror selfie picture in my apartment or my office bathroom or a 10 minute photoshoot outside is what works for my blog and me.
To be honest, the quick, not so planned out photoshoots and posts are the best because it shows that no matter my busy schedule, I’m finding a formula that works for me, because after all I’m still determined to make a mark in this huge blogging world.
To get back into the blogging rhythm, I figure this is the best kind of post. A post that features a round up of photos showing some of my outfits that have been on repeat during this fall and upcoming winter season.
Me: *looking at my closet* My obsession with all thing animal print is getting out of control
Also me: Goes to Zara and buys this snakeskin blazer
This blazer is everything! Dress it down with a pair of ripped boyfriend jeans or dress it up with a black dress. And yes, I wear glasses, but only at work to help me see my computer screen better, hence why I’m wearing my stylish Warby Parker glasses in some of these photos.
Proof that I wear color and things other than animal print. But seriously, loving these sweaters from Old Navy. I sized up for an oversized fit, so I can slightly tuck it into my jeans. Here’s me wearing the same exact sweater from Old Navy but in different colors with different jeans and accessories.
Ok, back to animal print. I wore these leopard printed shorts from Zara constantly throughout the summer. But now that the weather is getting colder, I made these shorts “winter proof” by adding some tights and an oversized gray denim jacket from Target.
Old Navy strikes again, this time with their denim. I love these black distressed skinny jeans, making them the perfect jeans to wear for a night out in town, especially with a fringe suede jacket from T.J. Maxx.
Speaking of going out, when I’m going to some clubby or fratty bar in the East Village, you gotta dress the part, so I like to take this red and black leopard body suit from Zara for a spin every once and while for those kinds of nights.
You can catch me in either animal print or floral. I scored this beautiful, bold floral printed silk dress from Zara a few weeks ago. I actually wore this same exact outfit for Thanksgiving last week.
As you can see, I live in these distressed boyfriend jeans from Target. I love the relaxed fit, which makes it easy to pair with anything and everything like a black studded belt and a metallic silver moto jacket from Forever 21.
It’s December, we already had our taste of freezing temps and snow and I am already over it. I hate having to layer, but if I’m going to have to do it, might as well do it in style with this super warm and cozy teddy coat from Uniqlo.
More proof that I wear color. I recently purchased this tie-dye long sleeve shirt from Target and it’s been my favorite effortless look, especially paired with boyfriend jeans.
Lastly, now that the holidays are in full force, you must bust out the plaid. Every time I wear plaid I feel like I’m back in my Catholic school days when I wore a similar looking uniform from kindergarten until my senior year of high school. Although, I wish my school uniform featured a cool fringed denim jacket and was head to toe Zara.
That’s all for now, folks. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram which I like to consider my “main platform.” My Instagram account (@livforstyle) is where you will see more photos and videos of my crazy adventures as an “occasional blogger” and “full time” lover of New York City, cocktails, shopping, and the list goes on, depending on the day, week, or month. Talk to you all real soon and I promise it won’t be months in between posts.
